Washington State School District’s Bus Drivers Gain Easy Access

The Customer

The Highline School District in Washington State maintains a large “bus barn” where school buses are stored and maintenance is performed.

The Challenge

Each time a bus would arrive at the secure gate, drivers needed to stop, get down, and unlock the gate to get into the yard.

"The school district is suitably impressed at the convenience and time savings, while maintaining security."

The Solution

Now, up to 50 drivers will be able to approach the main gate and through the Bluetooth connection on their VIZpin-enabled smartphone, entering the yard is as simple as a three-second wait for the gate to automatically open.

The school district is suitably impressed at the convenience and time savings, while maintaining security, and they are planning to expand the VIZpin system to the yard’s back gate to monitor deliveries. School officials are also using the bus barn deployment as a platform to study for possible deployment at other locations in the school district.
